Deputy General Counsel

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational legal leadership across the organisation, advising the General Counsel, executive team, and board on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters
- Oversee complex commercial transactions, contracts, disputes, and corporate governance matters
- Develop, implement, and monitor legal policies, risk management frameworks, and compliance programs
- Lead and mentor members of the legal team and manage relationships with external counsel, deputising for the General Counsel as required
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- An LLB or JD with current admission to practice in Australia and a current practising certificate
- Substantial post-qualification experience (typically 10+ years) across private practice and/or in-house, including in a senior leadership capacity
- Deep expertise in commercial law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience advising at board and executive level
The base salary for this position ranges from $250,000 to $300,000. In addition to base salary, total compensation includes a discretionary bonus.
