Legal Counsel

Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including property, share sale agreements, employment, and confidentiality contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance.
- Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and emerging legal and reputational risks across the organisation.
- Manage disputes, regulatory inquiries, and external counsel, translating complex legal matters into clear, actionable guidance for the firm.
- Develop and maintain internal policies, templates, and processes.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- An LLB or JD, admission as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and a current NSW practising certificate
- An outstanding academic record
- Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
- Experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department, with exposure to commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters
- The ability to manage multiple matters independently and prioritise under time pressure
- Knowledge of financial services regulation, derivatives, or funds management (considered a plus in some positions)
The base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $230,000. In addition to
base salary, total compensation includes a discretionary bonus.
